The Rebels

As time inches closer to the twenty first century, some of the values start to value. In the 1950's the television was huge and soon became essential to any middle and upperclass household. And a common modle for television shows at the time where white, middle class families. Shows that followed this model were shows like "Leave it to Beaver" and "I Love Lucy". Interestingly enough, women at the time were starting to have more rights and job equality, but most of the shows portrayed the average American woman as a content housewife.
